Assalamualaikum. I am a female medical practitioner in the UK. I work in a hospital in London, however, hospital has a policy in order to control infection that I have to keep bare below elbow while I am in the clinical area (within hospital ward). But in ward, along with patients I have male colleagues also. Please note that I can wear Borkah and hijab (no niqab), but I have to open my forearm at least up to near the elbow. This is the mandatory policy here in the UK and I have only two options here- (1) Either I can leave my job as a doctor (2) I can continue my job and follow their policy. I also just would like to mention that they have already warned me regarding this.
Personally, since last nearly 12 years, I have maintained Islamic Purdah with niqab and maintain maharam.
