Salam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh. Please can you help me answer this question. Is it permissible for a wife to refuse to pray behind her husband. She is refusing to pray Fard and Taraweeh behind her husband because she thinks (no concrete evidence) that her husband might be seeing another potential wife. As a result of this refusal, she is causing a bigger fitnah and division within the family because the daughters are not sure who to pray behind. There is now division in the house – praying same Fard prayer in the house but separately. Please help me clarify this with Hadith and the Quran. The wife thinks her husband is an hypocrite because he might be seeing someone else and as such he’s unfit to lead prayer! Even if the husband is an hypocrite of Allah, is he not an hypocrite of Allah? Does the wife has the right to Declare someone an hypocrite and unfit to be prayed behind? Jazakallah Khayr
