Hi,
I am an English non-Muslim and I hoped you could help me with some advice.
I would like to invite some devout Muslim friends to an event at the primary school that their young children attend – here in England. At the event there will be stalls and some of the stalls are games where the prize might be a bottle of wine.
No alcohol is being consumed at the event and the bottles aren’t opened. Also people do not need to enter the games or if they do they can choose other non-alcoholic prizes.
My question is whether it would be offensive or difficult for my Muslim friends to be somewhere there are bottles of alcohol present (even though it is not being consumed). I do not want to cause offence or make things difficult for them.
I would really appreciate your wisdom.
Kind regards.
