Assalamu alaikum rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
ATTN: Imam Siraj Wahhaj
I know of what Surah 33 Ayat 5 states. As it states the following: “Call them by (the names of) their fathers: that is juster in the sight of Allah. But if you know that not their father’s (names, call them) your Brothers in Faith, or your maulas. But there is no blame on you if  you make a mistake therein: (what counts is) the intention of your hearts: and Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.”
I am also aware of a few hadiths that state if we hide, deny, or delete our father’s name and surnames that we will be excluded from Jannah.
I don’t deny my father’s name nor family name. My family comes from a very diverse background and they consists of Jews, Christians and Muslims. But in our current time majority are Christian. As my family traveled through their nations making their way to the United States to settle. They had changed their given and surnames several times. I fear Allah swt and that is why I ask for advice on this serious issue. I also ask for evidence so that I can view.
Sincerely,
Abdullah Al Tahan
