Imam Adam Kelwick has recently travelled to Yemen to provide humanitarian assistance throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The humanitarian situation in Yemen remains dire; civilians are on the cusp of famine, with epidemic outbreaks of disease and attempting to navigate the trauma’s of war.
Kelwick, on behalf of the Human Relief Foundation, intends on providing urgent food assistance to one of the worst hit cities in Yemen, Taiz. During this month, he will prepare hot iftar meals every evening through a community kitchen and provide medical aid for the poor and displaced. If support and funds continue post-Ramadan, the Human Relief Foundation’s Community Kitchen intends on continuing its provision of food and medical aid in Yemen.
Imam Kelwick’s journey, as documented on Facebook, is outlined below:

I was in two minds whether to share this video with you or not. This is always the hardest part of emergency response humanitarian work, looking into the eyes of people who have heard there is food being distributed, only to get to us and find out there is none left. Their disappointment and upset leaves a lump in my throat every time. And then I try and empathise and imagine how they must be feeling. Hungry, upset, helpless…Every single time it's heart breaking. And I feel so bad for not being able to provide for everyone, even though I know it's next to impossible to do anyway. Then all I can do is share a message like this on social media and hope that more of you will come forward and support allowing us to get through the next group of people, but even then there will be people left over at the end with nothing, and I'll have to look into their eyes again. :(Please support the work we're doing here in #Yemen so we can help as many people as possible. www.justgiving.com/EmergencyYemen[PLEASE SHARE]
