On 7 July 2005, our country suffered a cowardly and barbaric terrorist attack which killed 52 people and injured over 700. Hundreds-Thousands have been affected by this terrorist attack.
We remember all those affected by 7/7 #LondonBombings. We also pay tribute to the emergency services who helped provide support & care.
7/7 anniversary is first and foremost about remembering those lives lost or changed forever. But it is also an important moment to reflect on how the threat of violent extremism still continues to affect people throughout the world and how can we all counter the threat posed by violent extremism.
A glance at the images of the victims reminds us that terrorists murder indiscriminately- the victims of 7/7 came from various nationalities, backgrounds, faiths and beliefs; they included Muslims too.
The terrorists do not discriminate between victims. The way British people responded shows terrorists will not be able to divide us. Tolerance, mutual respect and hope will always prevail.
