Muslim leaders speak out following a week of terror

The past two weeks the World has been rocked by multiple terrorist attacks in Turkey, Belgium, Iraq, Nigeria and Pakistan.

Beautiful cities full of diversity and culture rocked by evil, cowardly people.

Muslim leaders from across the World took to social media to speak out against these attacks.

qari asim guardian“Absolutely dreadful news from Gulshan Iqbal Park, Lahore Pakistan. So far around 70 people are dead and 350 have been injured. The suicide attack took place at a children’s park, where a large number of families,

Honestly just don’t know what to say. My heart is tired of being tired. My soul is weary of feeling weary.

The despair that we feel is just overwhelming. Yet, somehow, we must muster up the strength and courage to face another day, and to hope beyond hope that things will get better.

And that can only come from true tawakkul and sincere yaqin in the mercy of Allah.

especially women and children, were present. Thoughts and prayers for the families of all those who have been affected by the blast in Lahore.

I have been to Gulshan-i-Iqbal Park of Iqbal Town Lahore a number of times and can relate to the site of the attack where now pools of blood and scattered body parts are spread across. Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan Jamaatul Ahrar has accepted responsibility of such despicable act of violence.

This is the same cowardly group that was responsible for the 2014 Peshawar school massacre when around 141 innocent children were killed. The senseless killing of innocent people today in Lahore, once again, shows that the ugly face of Terrorism has no religion. Muslims are the greatest victims of terrrorism throughout the globe. This is not a battle between ideologies but rather a battle between humans and demons. The inhumane savages must not be allowed to overrun life and liberty granted by God to all human beings” – Imam Qari Asim.

Omar Suleiman 111“Within the last few weeks, Ankara and Istanbul saw disastrous terrorist attacks in city centers which garnered little media attention. Today we see the same carnage in Brussels. Once again, depraved human beings striking in populated places that should be safe for innocent families to live in peace. People should not have to worry about suicide bombers, gunmen, or drone strikes as they go about their daily lives in airports, marketplaces, banquet halls, etc. The madness must stop. Praying for the victims of todays attacks and the ones that are ignored on a daily basis” – Shaykh Omar Suleiman

Suhaib Webb 1“Prayers and concerns for the victims of today’s carnage in Belgium. ISIS and other criminal groups must be opposed at every level.

ISIS and its followers are not coming out of a vacuum. Those who sympathize with their ideology and back it financially must be opposed and held responsible.

Let’s us not forget the attacks that took place over the last few weeks in places like Turkey, Iraq, Libya, Mali and Syria. The horror today is a shared horror that has laid greater siege to the Levant than anywhere else. Selective anger is not acceptable in any situation” – Imam Suhaib Webb.

“One year ago today I was in the Great Mosque of Brussels speaking about “Beauty in Islam.” In attendance were EU officials from several countries. We were building bridges.

Fast-forward 12 months and some twisted people have brought nothing but death, destruction and ugliness “in the name of Islam.”

During my talk I reminded people of the saying of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that “God is Beautiful, and He loves beauty.”

So where does that put the evil and ugly attacks on all those innocent people???” – Imam Adam Kelwick
